1972 MAN Saviem Car Transporter

This truck was one of only 5600 made between 1967 and 1975 in a joint venture between MAN of Germany and Saviem France. The ill-fated Franco-German cooperation was politically unpopular at the time, and poor sales were not helped by the already antiquated styling, which we however find rather fetching.

The chassis and running gear have been treated to a fresh lick of pale green and a new stainless steel load platform. The immaculate interior fittings were removed whilst the cab received some metalwork and a new hue, dark forest green. We refurbished the 5.5 litre straight six diesel engine. We now transport our customers vehicles in this splendid old lorry, proudly wearing historic licence plates. We reckon it is quite an eye-catcher.
