Rover P6 3500 V8

1972 Rover 3500 completely restored Rovers in the Sweeney and the Professionals On UK TV in the 70s, both cops and robbers drove the V8 Rover P6 in all the best shows.

This 1972 Rover 3500 belonging to our Webmaster was badly corroded beneath the tidy exterior body panels Dogged determination has saved it from the junkyard.

The bare rolling 'Base Unit' was delivered to us for the extensive attention of our master panelbeater. After being completely disassembled, the rot was excised and entirely replaced with new hand-formed metalwork. The bodyshell was then improved with the addition of a 'Police-grade' front chassis-stiffening kit (designed by the Australian Rover Owners Club) to stiffen the front end. The bodyshell was refinished with two coats of marine primer and a urethanised underbody sealant. The engine bay was refinished in satin black. The suspension was re-assembled with a full complement of urethane bushes, custom made shorter stiffer springs and adjustable gas filled shock absorbers. The ride height has been lowered by 30mm all round.

Enjoy the before-and-after slideshow detailing the panelcrafting work we carried out on this vehicle.
